Building Business Partnerships

It didn’t occur to me and when I say this, you are going to take your right hand and slap the front of your forehead while you say, “I should have thought of that!”

Eben Pagan commented on one of his videos that you should treat your customers/clients as Business Partners. You may have no reason for changing your relationships with them, however, it is a thought process that changes your outlook on the way you treat them. As Business Partners, you elevate your level of respect and how you interact with them.

As I listened to the rest of his video, I could not get the idea out of my mind that this is the essence of what I am trying to wrap my head around in regards to Social Media Marketing. This “Social” aspects forces us into a relationship with our “prospect, client or customer” that is more in line with the future of business as we know it!

What are we trying to do when we think about customers as Business Partners instead of a flow of traffic in and out of our store (physical location or Internet location)? It can be summed up in one word that all business people seek: LOYALTY

What does Loyalty have to do with the way we conduct business? EVERYTHING!!!!! I can’t stress this enough!

Let me show you thru a relative simple analogy. How many houses do you think you want to buy in the next 5 years? 5, 10, maybe 25? NO just one! So, does a Realtor need Loyalty? Of course they do. Have you ever heard of “Referral Marketing”?

Do you receive the flyers every week in the paper from your local grocery store competitors? They want their name imprinted into your brain every time you think about grabbing a loaf of bread on the way home much less the weekly grocery shopping. They don’t even want you to know that other store exist that you pass on the way to their store.

You need to think about this as a Business Partnership arrangement. In your own business, you need to take care of your Business Partners with the same high level of respect that keeps them coming back to you every time they buy that item that you stock on your virtual shelves as well as those physical shelves.
