Buddy and Me
Buddy and Me
I was listening the radio the other day and the DJs were talking about this toy when they were kids. One of the DJ’s started reciting the entire commercial for her childhood toy Buddy and Me.
I was amazed at how well she was able to recite the commercial in its entirety. This made me think about a “hotel” meeting I attended once where the speaker asked us to finish these lines from former commercials. As he recited the beginning of a jingo, the entire audience finished the jingo. After several of these, the speaker announced that not one of these commercials had been run in the last 20 years!
This brings me to the point of the value of good advertising.
Now, we are in the Virtual World and are relying on Digital Marketing. What does this mean for your business? Are people going to remember you, your products or your business?
In the article (Brain Dump Then Reboot Your Online Business), I made the following statement:
That “Good Stuff” is what you are working on for your online business. By using this process, you are Rebooting Your Online Business. What does this look like?
If you are going to operate in the Virtual World, you need to “reboot” your thinking. Those clever lines that the audience I was in was able to finish for the speaker, they took some ingenuity to come up with for the marketing company to produce. Think about your product being embedded forever in the minds of millions of people you put it in front of!
I remembered every line that day but was I a customer? For the most part, I was not. You see, most of the lines were from cigarette commercials and I never smoked. I can still tell you: LSMFT: Lucky Strikes means fine tobacco.
What will your customers remember about your products?
