The Finish Line is Just a Mirage
THE FINISH LINE
No matter what you participate in, there comes a time when you have woken up in a cold sweat because you were having a bad dream. If you participate in sports, have you ever had a nightmare that as you approached the finish line that it just keeps getting further from you? As a business person in the corporate world, have you ever had that nightmare that you just couldn’t get that assignment done and the deadline is fast approaching?
When I was 10 years old, I remember we were driving from New York City to El Paso, Texas. (As it turned out, we would only be assigned there for 9 months.) On the trip, I would watch the surroundings as we drove. I often was curious about the vanishing finish line (or the mirage in the road). The mirage made the road look as though we were about to drive onto a water soaked roadway. As we approached, the apparent watery road seemed to keep its distance. We could never meet that water. (Much like travelers in the desert talk about when they are under the heat of the desert sun.)
IS YOUR ONLINE BUSINESS JUST A MIRAGE
Have you ever had a wood burning stove? I lived in a ranch house in the mountains that was heated only by one wood burning stove. I moved in on December 1 and the family that lived in the house before took all of “their” firewood with them. At an elevation of 8,000 feet on December 1, the temperatures were already below freezing at night.
Here’s my point: I had to get firewood for that wood stove but I wanted to be sure I would be warm. So I said to the stove: “you give me heat and I will go and get firewood!”
The aspect of me getting heat was just a Mirage!
Are you expecting your business to give you heat without feeding it sound business practices?
Too many people are brought into a home business opportunity without the realization they have to actually work to make any money. They listen to too much hype and somehow believe they are going to make a lot of money even though they struggle 40 to 80 hours a week at a job not making it!
BE REALISTIC WITH YOUR ONLINE BUSINESS
To be successful with your business, you will have to apply yourself.
As a kid, I only wanted to do the things I already knew how to do. It didn’t take me long as an adult that when I was born, I didn’t know anything that I had done as a kid. When I realized everything I had done, I had to learn, it took a lot of weight off my shoulders.
This is when I EMBRACED CHANGE and allowed myself the stress of learning something new.
