Your Online Business- It’s How You Learn

And the debate goes on….

I have been having this debate in my head for years and years. My wife and I have been having this conversation now for quite some time as well. As a matter of fact, this is what prompted the writing and publishing of one of her blogs: Is An Education Necessary.

This was written in that post:  Although it would be beneficial to have that degree, can you succeed without it? My husband pointed out some of the books he has read about Millionaires that never completed their high school education.

We don’t want you to think we put education down (somewhat) but there has to be a value in the education that one receives. I have a 4 year degree in a Ivy League School myself (Cornell University). In his book, The Education of Millionaires, Michael Ellsberg  states that after 4 years of education in an Ivy League School (Brown University), the only courses that apply to his career are his classes in Public Speaking and Writing.

When I read that in Michael’s book, I had to stop and close the book and go WOW! At that moment, I realized how parallel we were since those were the 2 classes that applied to my current life ambitions.

Read the rest of the title of his book: The Education of Millionaires: Everything You Won’t Learn in College About How to Be Successful

Everything You Won’t Learn in College About How to Be Successful

My Freshman year at college, I should have guessed what was in store. (Besides the bills!)

During orientation, some of the Seniors were telling us their stories and what our “Ivy League Education” was going to prepare us for. One of the Seniors made this comment and it has stuck with me through the years: You future employers do not want to know what you learned here at college. They want to know that you know HOW TO LEARN.

Somehow, I hung onto that as an important piece of information. Now that I am Self-Employed, I finally understand the statement.

With my Online Business, I know success lies in the ability to learn how to do something that has not been done rather than relying 100% on the knowledge of something that has been done.

We are at a cross roads with our online business, Compumatrix. We are not building an online business that has all the pieces of the puzzle neatly cut out and placed in the box. We have to have “out of the box thinking”. We are venturing where few have chosen to travel.

We are paving a road in a relatively new industry. In the World of Digital Currency, do you desire to be with the leaders or with the followers? As for me, my Road is Paved With Compuceeds.
