The Very Best Job in the World!!
The Greatest Job on Earth!
I have often thought about the idea of what to me would be the greatest job I could ever have.
Would it be a regular working job, for 8 to 12 hours, where I was pretty much always guaranteed a place to work, and prosper?
Would it be an at home job, where I set my own hours, type of dress, and level of actual work?
Would it be an outside job, not being closed in, and able to work with my hands?
We all know hundreds of ideas that have cluttered our thoughts, and the hopes of one day being able to do as we please to varying degrees, with thoughts of enjoyment on our time off, or a vacation to an exotic place, or just being able to retire early. I once thought I wanted to retire at 40, and if I had stayed with the military, and the high risk jobs, I would have been able to do just that, but then for what ever reason I left, and I had regrets. I no longer have regrets for I see things differently now.
Some of you call it by various names and forms; but simply put, ‘It was meant to be, so get over it and move on!’ Me, though, I do add a bit of my religious convictions to it and say; “I am a part of God’s plan, and things that don’t happen, or do happen, were meant to be for His reasons.’ And this comforts me greatly!
I could have even once married for money, a very nice woman with a 4 year old daughter, who owned much property in and around Hawaii, but then I just was not that interested at the time, so selah vie, which means much in this world of ours and our commitments. Just, ‘That’s Life’ and this is the mixing of a Hebrew Word and a French Word, so there we go again, sorry.
But, now that I reflect on the things of my life, I wonder, and I think about what I do like. I do like hard work, sweating, and all that goes with it, but getting me started is a problem. I really do love the garden, and I really like the smell of dirt. I love plants and the world of color and amazement that comes with it all. I also love the fruits of one’s work, and the taste, oh the taste of home grown vegetables, nothing else like it. But, one thing for sure; it is consistent, and steady work, that must follow a time line, and an eye for detail. In other words it just isn’t going to take care of itself, like so many gardeners do, and then complain why are their gardens not like some have.
And in all the years I taught vocational careers, like automotive or diesel mechanics, electronics, air-conditioning and refrigeration, machines shop, welding or at least a dozen other occupations. The one thing I never taught and should have done first, was to teach the idea that you have to stick with it, and form distinct patterns to that line of work, and then keep learning and honing your skills, for the money won’t just come rolling in because you have a high demand, high paying job.
I know people that become teachers just because it pays very well, here anyway, and they get the summers off, and it doesn’t seem all that hard to teach people. But, then no job is easy, if they were then everyone would try to get that job, now wouldn’t they.
I personally know of no vocation that I can not personally do, but can I do it as fast, or with the finesse of a life long skilled tradesman in any given career vocation? No, I can’t, and some say this is sad, but then I work for peanuts, and do not desire the big dollars.
So this brings us to why, I am writing this blog, today, now doesn’t it? Yes, of course it does.
Can you imagine what fore thought, what planning, and what vision had to take place for us to have this business opportunity that is before us today? There was no example to copy, exactly, and there was no preset plan, or other business model to consider, so it came from scratch, pretty much. But, thanks to Henry it is here today, and you and I are actual business owners, we are also part of something bigger than ourselves, and we have the opportunity to help so many others do the same. But, then what does it take?
Now that is the real question? What does it take to be the best at anything? Lots of hard work, lots of actual doing the job as it was created to be, and with enough actual involvement you will grow in skill, and in your ability to be the very best.
Now, I guess it is time for at least one negative statement in this little blog, that should span dozens of pages, but for now… Folks, all to many complain that they are not making enough, they are not seeing enough movement in the portal, and other complaints. Hey, I have done the same, and complained, and after all complaining is easy. But, what should we be doing, many of you spend hours pouring over the facets of the Internet, and yet do so little sharing of the wonderful things you find, and is this not part of the plan that Henry has given us? To participate, there are many on the forum, but not nearly as many, as there are members.
My wife has said some of these same things, and now we have this blog. She felt that this was never going to make it, that she did not know what to do to make more points or money. So I am trying to do many of the things Henry suggested, we all do, and that is simply get more involved. It is working! Now if I can just get her to try some of the same things others are doing, and share her thoughts more, and pictures, and such. She will see a big difference, and so will all of us.
Folks you will never have the perfect garden with all the great fruits and beauty without a bunch of effort, and you will never have that business, or job you always dreamed of without some minimal effort. Just think; Henry has done all the hard work, and so has the BOD, now all you have to do is very minimal effort, and the more the effort, the more the reward, and not just monetarily either!
Love each of you and I am sure glad to be here with each of you today!!! May God bless!
