Have you ever wanted to make a change in yourself or your life, and not been able to? Maybe you put absolutely every ounce of your effort into that change, but still you fell back into your old ways. Or perhaps you felt really strongly about making a big change in your external life–changing jobs or changing your housing. But even though you wanted it more than anything, you just couldn’t make it happen!
Why? Why is it so hard, sometimes, to make those changes?
I would point to something that my teacher, Matt Kahn, taught me. He taught me about the power of honesty. But it’s a funny thing that he pointed to, with regards to honesty. He encouraged me, and all of the other Love Revolution folks, to be honest about what we didn’t know!
I don’t know how to change what I’m thinking, what I’m feeling. I don’t know why this is happening to me. I don’t know why I am frustrated. I don’t know why I feel stuck. I don’t know how to get excited about this business. I don’t know why things don’t seem to be moving the way I want them to. I don’t know what to do to make things feel better.
You see, when we admit that we don’t know why something is the way it is, that we don’t know how to do what seems so obvious to do, that allows the grace of God to do it for us, through us. We are so intent in this world, on knowing everything. God/Source/the Universe, is perfectly willing to keep on letting us pretend we know it all.
But really, how many of us want that kind of responsibility? Do you really know what is best for you and everyone else in the world? Do you really know exactly how and when to orchestrate things so that everyone is best served in each and every moment of every day?
When we let go of having to know everything, and allow what we know in the moment that we are in to be enough, we begin to slow down, relax, and flow with the grace of God. And that flowing is all about surrendering to that which really does know when and how to orchestrate the everything that is all around us!
Things may not be moving at the speed we most want them to. Yet it is moving at the very speed at which is needed to ensure that every being on this wide and wonderful earth is honored and served to their greatest capacity.
Does that mean only good and wonderful things happen to each person? No. But it does mean that even though I don’t know why things happen the way that they do, I trust that life knows how to move so that each person will grow with the greatest grace possible, in every moment.
May all beings be cherished, honored and supported through this time of change and transformation! I am honored and blessed to be part of this community! Thank you!
